Dubai CommerCity is a new trade and logistics hub being developed in the Dubai Creek area. The project is being undertaken by CommerCity FZCO, a joint venture between Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and Economic Zones World (EZW).
The new hub will cover an area of 1.2 million square feet and will feature state-of-the-art facilities for businesses operating in the trade and logistics sector. It will also include a dedicated Free Zone area, which will offer a range of benefits and incentives for businesses setting up there.
The first phase of the project is due to be completed in 2019, with the full development scheduled for completion by 2021. When finished, Dubai CommerCity is expected to accommodate over 5,000 businesses and generate up to 50,000 jobs.
The project is part of Dubai’s wider plans to boost its position as a leading global hub for trade and logistics. In 2016, the emirate was ranked the world’s sixth most competitive location for logistics operations by the World Bank.
Dubai CommerCity will build on this success and further cement Dubai’s reputation as a key player in the global economy.
