This post is about how to make the best college dorm party!
What is a college without a good party? I mean, isn’t that the whole point of going to college?
Haha, I’m kidding. But as a college student who took 5 years to complete my education (don’t judge me), I’ve had a fair share of unusual dorm parties that I will remember for the rest of my life.
How Do You Throw a Dorm Party?
Before having a party in your dorm room, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Get On Your RA’s Good Side
Throwing successful dorm teams without being shut down by your RA (local assistant) minutes later is not an easy task. So my advice is that you know your RA! Some RAs are good and do not care if you are having a party as long as you control the sound. But some RAs can be very strong and do not tolerate any groups or alcohol in the sleeping area.
So before you have a party in your bedroom, be sure to check the policies first and talk to your RA. The last thing you want to write!
Let Your Neighbors Know
All right, here’s my advice. Invite your neighbors to your party so they don’t attack you! HAHA! I mean, you have to do what you have to do!
But, if they are not interested in the party with you, be sure to respect it! Let them know when your party starts and ends, and ask them if it’s okay to play music. Most of the time, unless you are having a party in the middle of the week, people are usually fine if you have a party near you. I mean! In college! But still, do not blow the music so hard that the walls vibrate literally.
College Dorm Party Themes for the Perfect Event
College is undoubtedly a time to study, but it is also a time to have fun, express yourself, and get to know people who may be friends for the rest of your life. One of the best ways to communicate with others is to hold college parties and meetings. To help you, we are sharing some of their favorite college party themes. Once you have selected the theme, order a delicious meal and press play your favorite song for a celebration that delights the crowd.
1. Toga Party
You can’t go wrong with an old college party theme – a toga party! With a dress code inspired by Greek and Roman culture, you can ask your party guests to donate their best toga.
While there are often drinking games involved in this type of party, feel free to make your own and focus on other creative aspects. For example, to add a fun twist to your toga party, ask everyone to customize their togas with ornaments or choose brightly colored versions. You can also combine your toga bash with another unexpected theme – like a toga rave party.
2. Ugly Sweater Party
There is no such thing as a bad jersey party. Whether you’re going to a holiday party or gathering your college friends for a fun reunion, ugly (weird) jerseys will never go out of style.
Challenge your guests to find their holiday jersey (read: tackiest) and join you for a delicious dinner, party, and acquaintance. Give the award best dressed (or worst), and enjoy discussing your activities and food related to the topic too – like a question with a jersey theme.
3. Graffiti Party
Time to clarify and break all the rules with a fun graffiti-themed party. This college party idea is perfect for art students, music students, and anyone who wants to innovate.
Ask your guests to wear something white – like a white T-shirt, tank top, or dress. Then, hand out markers, highlights, pens, and fabric paints in all the different colors and invite people to walk around uncontrollably and access their clothes or each other’s. Just be sure to inform guests of your party invitations to wear something that ignores the recording.
You can store graffiti art on your own property or find a convenient place where people can show off their writing skills – like a large cloth or cardboard model.
4. High School Stereotypes Party
High school never ends, and this college team proves it. Invite your guests to dress up in a high school costume for a night of laughter and memories.
There is no end to the superstitions you can put together – criminals, hippies, cheerleaders, jocks, and just a few goths that come to mind. You might even dress up as your favorite duo or three from a high school movie – like Clueless or Mean Girls.
5. Disney Party
Check out your Disney classic for this college party theme infatuation. There’s a lot of fun you can have about this – you can stick with Disney princesses and villains, choose only old favorites like Mickey and Minnie, or add some new Marvel characters.
At your Disney-inspired party, encourage attendees to dress up as their favorite character. (No need to wait for the Halloween party, though this works perfectly in the spooky era.) Go out and decorate your space, decorating, eating, and drinking with photos from the motion picture studio. If you are all over the required age, these Disney-inspired cocktails will add color to your menu.
College Dorm Party Games & Activities
Those who really find it on campus know that college party games are one of the best games you will ever play in your life. Obviously, the list of best college party games should include alcohol, which is why you should probably not invite your parents. College is that one stage in your life where you will drink a lot of alcohol, so why not be happy while you are there.
1. Go Fishing
Guess, the first game involves beer and any alcohol you have, which should be enough to play. This card game is actually simple, which is nice because the rules are often easily forgotten when people’s heads start to thunder. The card feature only adds to the fun that this game will bring. You can play this game indoors or outdoors.
2. Medusa
You can play this game indoors or outdoors depending on your preference. Keep track of the number of people under ten and have a really fun drinking game in your hands. It all depends on the speed and the amount of alcohol you can handle. When you are on the beach or at a house party, music should only add to the fun.
3. Celebrity Game
Like Medusa above, celebrity hunting also requires some speed and thought. You also need to know the names of many celebrities, otherwise you will end up taking too many photos. You can add to the fun by reducing the players’ time to think of celebrity names to ten seconds or less. You can do this in a large or small group both internally and externally.
4. Superfight
Most people in college love superhero movies, which is why this is perfect among college party games. Add to the challenge by coming up with some of the most powerless superheroes around. Give your partner someone with little to no power like Hawkeye from the Avengers and watch them fumble. Add to the laughter by doing this in a group or let the group pick the superheroes for you. Since you are in college, you can also find excuses to add alcohol to the mix.
5. Beer Pong
Even if you live under a rock, you must have heard about beer pong and the merriment it comes with. Breathe life into the party with this all-time classic and watch people go crazy as they get more drunk and wild. Regarding college party games supplies, all you need is some cheap beer, and equally cheap Ping-Pong ball and plastic glasses. Play for as long as you like with as many people as possible.
